Downtown Charlottetown Market Opens Sunday, July 7th for 15th Season

Charlottetown, PE – Downtown Charlottetown Inc. (DCI) Is pleased to announce the return of the Downtown Market for its 15th year. The open-air market is re-locating this year to Confederation Landing Park, located at 2 Great George Street, and will feature 80+ local Island vendors. The season kicks off on Sunday, July 7th (10 am – 3 pm) and runs every Sunday until September 29th, rain or shine.
The Downtown Market has seen remarkable growth over the past fifteen years on Queen Street. From its beginnings on a single block, to growing to span three blocks and averaging 3,500 visitors each Sunday. This expansion reflects not only the market’s success, but also the growth of Charlottetown itself. Reflecting on the changing environment, DCI is excited to adapt to this growth, and seize the exciting opportunities that come with the relocation of the Market to the beautiful greenspace along the waterfront at Confederation Landing.
The location also places visitors at the heart of the popular “Sounds of the Waterfront” music series, presented by Dairy Farmers of PEI, Peake’s Quay, and the Founders’ Food Hall and Market. Vendors at the Downtown Market sell a variety of products such as local farm produce; vegetables, fruit, and preserves; baked goods, fresh flowers, and Island cider; as well as food service options from local & international cooks.
